Note: These fanfares may be played individually or as a concert «suite». If all the fanfares are performed, the interludes should be played between each fanfare (muting optional). The two trumpets may wish to position themselves at distant points of the concert hall for an antiphonal effect. For rehearsal purpose, normal fingerings may be used. However, for maximum effect, the «natural trumpet» fingerings are recommended in performance. Care must be taken that the «natural trumpet « fingerings do not generate out-of-tune playing. (S.F.)
