As a trumpet teacher, it has been my experience that there is little literature at the easy to moderate levels of difficulty. For this reason I have made it my task to write pieces for various instrumentations. In this particular book are pieces for trumpet and piano. Going on the idea that children should be able to perform both parts together, I have written the piano part at an easy level as well. I have, of course, taken care that keys are not too complicated; this can always be a problem since the two parts are written in different keys. A further purpose of this book is variety of the pieces. While not wanting to copy single styles word-forword, I do wish to aquaint the student many different styles. He can thus experience that each style has its own special delights.
